2011 Holden Volt

GM Holden has released the first images of the highly anticipated Holden Volt extended range electric vehicle as it will appear on Australian roads. The images, which show a right-hand-drive version of Volt sporting Holden badges on its aerodynamic front and rear, were released as part of Holden's presentation at the Melbourne International Motor Show. It is a local take on the vehicle that has won widespread acclaim for its ability to travel up to 64 kilometres on electricity before using petrol or producing exhaust pipe emissions.
GM Holden Chairman and Managing Director Mark Reuss said the company had been overwhelmed by public interest in Holden Volt since announcing it would launch in Australia in 2012. "We think Volt has the potential to change the game in Australian motoring," Mr Reuss said. "Since we announced our plans to introduce Holden Volt to Australia, we have been overwhelmed by public interest in the car and the technology that makes it work. There is no doubt that Volt's advanced propulsion systems represent some of the most exciting alternative fuel developments in motoring. At Holden, we believe Volt will play an incredibly important role in our efforts to make motoring better for the environment".

2009 Honda Civic Hybrid

The Honda Civic Hybrid with advanced IMA hybrid technology achieves an EPA-estimated city/highway fuel economy of 40/45 miles per gallon and is updated for 2009 with the addition of Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) and the availability of leather-trimmed interior which includes heated front seats, leather-wrapped steering wheel and heated side mirrors. The Honda Civic Hybrid is certified by the California Air Resource Board (CARB) as Advanced-Technology Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle (AT-PZEV). A continuously variable transmission (CVT) is standard equipment. The Honda Civic Hybrid can deactivate all four of its cylinders and operate using only the electric motor in certain low-speed cruising situations. Power for the Honda Civic Hybrid is provided by a 1.3-liter i-VTEC 4-cylinder engine and a 15 kilowatt electric motor, producing a combined 110-horsepower @ 6000 rpm and combined 123 lb-ft. of torque @ 1000-2500 rpm.

2009 Honda City

The all-new Honda City will make its European debut at the Istanbul Motor Show in October 2008.
The compact sedan is a radical departure from the previous generation car, with a totally new exterior style, featuring some visual elements of the stylish Accord. The restyled exterior is joined by a new 1.4 i-VTEC engine, which gives the Honda City significantly more power and better performance.

America's best-selling pickup, the Ford F-Series, is raising the bar once again - this time with unsurpassed fuel efficiency on the new 2009 Ford F-150, thanks to significant miles per gallon improvement across the entire F-150 lineup.
On sale in October 2008, the new Ford F-150 offers fuel economy that has improved an average of 8 percent across the entire lineup as a result of a wide-range of engineering enhancements. The fuel economy gains reach as high as 12 percent versus the prior model year on Ford F-150 models equipped with the high-volume 3-valve, 5.4-liter V-8 engine. 2010 Holden Cruze

The all-new Holden Cruze made its Australian debut at the 2009 Melbourne International Motor Show signalling the company's latest entrant in the competitive small car segment. Holden Cruze is the first of General Motors' new wave of global products and enters Australia's small car segment equipped with striking road presence, advanced interior comfort and high levels of safety features. Powered by a 1.8 litre 4-cylinder ECOTEC petrol engine or optional 2.0 litre 4-cylinder turbocharged common rail diesel engine, Holden Cruze will go on sale in the second quarter of 2009.

In detail, the kit allows the 1.4 16v Turbo T-Jet engine to achieve a maximum power of 160 CV (147 KW) at 5750 g/min with peak torque of 230 Nm at 3000 g/min in "Sport Mode". The result is a truly thrilling performance: top speed is 211 km/h with acceleration from 0-100 kph in just 7.4 seconds. The all-new 2009 Nissan Maxima will be offered as two well-equipped models, Maxima 3.5 S and Maxima 3.5 SV, and is scheduled to arrive at Nissan dealers nationwide in early summer 2008.

2009 GMC Sierra Hybrid Crew Cab

GMC announced the 2009 GMC Sierra Hybrid, a powerful full-size pickup that achieves 40-percent greater city fuel economy and a 25-percent improvement in overall fuel economy while delivering the capability expected of a full-size truck - including a 6,100-pound (2,767 kg) towing capacity.
Partnering General Motors' patented two-mode hybrid system and a powerful 6.0L gas V-8, the Sierra Hybrid delivers highly efficient performance, including all-electric driving up to 30 mph (48 km/h). That allows fuel savings to be realized even when the truck is fully loaded or towing a trailer.

2009 Audi A4

Audi of America released pricing for two of its newest entries, the 2009 model year Audi A4 sedan and Audi A4 Avant. Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price for the Audi A4 sedan will start at $32,700, while MSRP for the Audi A4 Avant will start at $34,500.

"The combination of efficiency, power, performance and design make the Audi A4 the new segment standard," said Johan de Nysschen, executive vice president, Audi of America. "These are all-new models with added standard features versus the previous generation. And the Audi A4, when equipped with the all-new 2.0TFSI engine and quattro all-wheel-drive system, delivers better fuel economy and acceleration than the key competitors in this segment."

"I started getting calls early this year," said Strong, "especially after the Audi A4 hit the auto show circuit and photos started to appear. Consumer interest increased as fuel prices rose. The new 2.0 TFSI is a great engine. Add the new engine to the beautiful design and incredible vehicle technology and I feel that this is the perfect car for the time."

The Audi A4 sedan can be equipped with either the all-new 2.0 TFSI 4-cylinder engine or the 3.2 FSI V6 engine. The 2.0 TFSI engine can be configured for front-wheel drive or with Audi's quattro all-wheel-drive system. The 3.2 FSI is offered exclusively in the sedan and with the quattro all-wheel-drive system and a 6-speed Tiptronic transmission. The Audi A4 Avant will be equipped with the 2.0 TFSI engine and the quattro all-wheel-drive system.

New for 2009, the 2.0 TFSI engine features more horsepower (211 hp) and significantly more torque (258 lb.-ft.) than the engine it replaces. Rated at 21 miles per gallon city and 27 mpg highway, the 2.0 TFSI engine delivers better fuel economy, and when compared to the all-wheel-drive versions, better 0-to-60 miles per hour acceleration than the key German and Asian competitors in the segment.

Fisker Automotive, Inc., the new American manufacturer of premium green automobiles, unveiled its first production car - the 2010 Fisker Karma - at the 2009 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit. With a starting price of $87,900 ($80,400 after US government tax credits), 1,000 orders for the 100 mile-per-gallon luxury plug-in hybrid have been received since the prototype debuted at the 2008 NAIAS. Fisker Karma deliveries are scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of 2009 through the Fisker Automotive Retail network.
The four-door, four-seat Fisker Karma fuses the traditional and timeless styling of veteran auto designer and Fisker Automotive CEO Henrik Fisker, with Quantum Technologies' clean Q-DRIVE® plug-in hybrid powertrain to become the world's first luxury plug-in hybrid car.
