2009 DODGE AVENGER: Designed to appeal to Generation Xers, the '09 Avenger offers an assertive attitude, bold styling, and powerful performance. The three models offered are the front-wheel-drive SE, SXT and R/T. All-wheel-drive is offered on the R/T model only. This is Dodge's first mid-size car with the AWD offering. Three engines power the 2009 Avengers. They are a 2.4-liter, 173-horsepower four-cylinder on the S and SXT models, a 2.7-liter, 186-horsepower V6 for the SXT model, and a 235 horsepower, 3.5-liter V6 engine coupled with a six-speed automatic transaxle with Auto Stick on the R/T machine. The other two engines are mated to a four-speed automatic transaxle. Antilock brakes are standard and stability control is optional.
