2009 GEM e2: The GEM e2 is built by the Global Electric Motorcars, a Chrysler company, located in Fargo, ND. From its high profile to its command-style seating the GEM e2 two-passenger vehicle is ideal for those short trips you make every day. Its standard six 12-volt flooded electrolyte batteries provide a range of up to 35 miles on a charge and the many vehicle options offer you great versatility. The 72-volt Shunt GE motor has a 5 h.p. rating, and the vehicle feature a front-wheel drive direct-coupled Dana spicer differential. An optional Performance Package contains a 7.0 horsepower motor, scoops, heat sync and chrome emblems for your more demanding applications. Other optional equipment includes chrome front and rear bumpers, chrome wheels, audio system and heater/defogger.
